The Boomerang Association of Australia acknowledges the Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the first inhabitants of the nation and the traditional custodians of the lands where we live, learn and work.
 

Welcome to the Boomerang Association of Australia. Sport boomerang throwing is in Australia and has been since the 1970's. Sport boomerangs are also thrown all over the world with new countries joining yearly. If you’re an Athlete, artist, craftsman, hobby enthusiast or new to boomerangs, you can learn all about it here. We can help you buy genuine returning boomerangs from Australian manufacturers. We can also help you make and throw boomerangs.

World Boomerang Championships 2022

August 15th - 26th. Bordeaux, France

This August the the World of boomerang throwers will once again meet to compete at the World Boomerang Championships.

Unfortunally Australian will not be fielding a team, however 5 Australians will be travelling to France.

 

Rob Croll - (2 time World Champion and 10 time National Champion) will be joining an International Veterans team, plus partaking in the individuals.

Roger Perry - (Australian, Indonesian & French Champion and Australian Captain) will be aiding a combined Indian and Indonesian team through their very first championship and also competing in the Individuals.

Takeshi Honda - (Australian, Indonesian, Japanese & USA Champion) competing at this years cup in the Individuals as an Japan/Australian representative.

Christene Metzakis - (Australian & West Australian Ladies Champion) Competing in the Individuals and offering help and support to the Indian/Indonesian Team.

Leonie Metzakis - (Official Judge at multiple championships) will be an additional Australian Representative and will also be volunteering throughout the duration of the cup.

Australian National Championships 
17th & 18th September 2022

Venue: Surveyors Creek Recreation Area, Ballybunnion Terrace, Glenmore Park NSW 2745.

Registrations and practice time starts at 8:00am and the competition will kick off around 9:00am for both days.

Day 1 will consist of main competition events, followed by the AGM

Day 2 will be a more relaxed “fun” day with activities for the whole family

Indo-Australia Boomerang Championships

For the 1st time in sport boomerang throwing history!

The Indo Boomerang Association has invited Australia to compete in their first ever international competition. Six Australian throwers will fly to India in November this year for the event.
With the help of founder and IBA president Vivek Montrose, six of India's top National throwers will go head to head with Australia in the same events played at World Cup level. Accuracy, Australian Round, Endurance, Team Relay, Team Supercatch & Trick Catch.

Australia is proud of the hard work Vivek and all members of the Indo-Boomerang Association have accomplished to help our sport grow around the world.
